Hello fellow biology students... Here are just some tips and tricks that I thought some of you might want to use when you do studying for biology!

1. Use acronyms/mnemonics
Acronyms are a great and efficient way of memorizing concepts! Since we are exposed to many different concepts in Biology, I find acronyms the best way of getting that knowledge in my head without having to study it over and over again!
Some examples of these acronyms/mnemonics include:
- BCCRR
(In Bright Light, the Circular muscles Contract while the Radial muscles Relax)
-Can't Wait to Go Overseas to Canada Later
(Carbon Dioxide and Water are needed for photosynthesis to produce Glucose and Oxygen in photosynthesis in the presence of chlorophyll and light energy)
So as you can see... These acronyms/mnemonics are a great and fun way of memorizing various information your textbook throws at you. If you are using mnemonics, make sure the sentences make sense to you and are unique so that they catch your attention and to make sure the mnemonic is ingrained in your brain. Have fun using them!
2. Learn through teaching
Personally, after learning a certain topic or concept, to further strengthen my knowledge of the topic and to get it in my head, I find it really helpful to teach the topic to friends who are struggling to grasp it. Of course, make sure that you at least are confident in the particular topic before teaching others for this method to truly work.
This works especially well for me because I am a linguistic learner (someone who learns best verbally, through speeches and also through writing). Even if you aren't a linguistic learner like me and have not tried teaching your peers and going through the topic with them, maybe try it out once and see if it works! If not there are a plethora of other ways to study for Biology :3
Anyways, here are just two tips!! I will add more to this blog post soon... Stay tuned!
